What Does Physics Have To Do With The Physical World?

A group of students at medical school were having difficulty understanding a complicated physics lecture and let the professor know of their problem. One student in particular rudely interrupted the professor's lecture and snarled, "Why do we even have to learn this stuff?"

"To save patient's lives," the professor calmly replied.

"How does physics save anyone's life," the student went on sarcastically.

The professor quickly answered, "By keeping idiots like you from graduating medical school."
